Who is this course for?

This three hour course is for workplaces with low risk and staffing levels. The course provides an opportunity to practice and update skills gained on the HSE FAW or HSE EFAW course. The HSE strongly recommend attendance on annual refresher sessions.

Course content


  • Assess the situation in an emergency


  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)


  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation


  • Use of an A.E.D (defibrillator)


  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding


  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

The delegate on the course will receive

  • Handout card


  • Certification upon successful completion of the course
